Shirley Walker Moore’s written masterpiece, Independence Heights is based on the research by Vivian Hubbard Seals exploring the history, development and preservation efforts of this community. Independence Heights is now a community in Houston bordered by Tidwell to the north, Shepherd Drive to the west, the 610 Loop to the south, and Interstate 45 to the east.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Reza J. Poudeh joined the faculty of  the School of Communication in September 1989 . Dr. Poudeh has taught film and video production and media aesthetics courses for the last 33 years. He has produced numerous documentaries and short films on 16 mm film and video.  His research interests are in media aesthetics and the Iranian cinema. He has published a number of papers on Iranian Cinema.
